Long Distance Relationships ARE Possible. Many say to me that just the idea of a LDR is simply impossible, but it's not. All relationships require work, some more then others. and a LDR is one of those relationships, the truth of the matter is that Distance doesn't ruin a relationship, doubts do.
TRUST. Trust is the MOST important thing in a LDR. (or any relationship for that matter) but if you cant trust each other in a LDR, then its never going to work. because if you don't trust each other, all it will cause is stress.
Communication Talk to each other, and if you have a problem work threw it. fighting is normal and healthy in any good relationship. but not if you cant both take the time to figure out whats wrong, and take care of the problem. eliminating stress in a LDR is a very important thing.
Face Time Make time at LEAST once a week to Skype or communicate with each other that allows you to see each other instead of texting and calling all the time. you'd be surprised how good it will make your BF/GF feel to see your face and make you smile.
Do Stuff Together. If your in the same time zone or state, this for you should be easy. turn your TV's on to the same channel and watch a show together wile you Skype or text. If you (Like me and my boyfriend) are in completely different states and timezones. get on Skype and play a board or card game together. if you have a Xbox, PlayStation Ect. play together once and awhile its good to feel included.
Talk about the future. If your serious about your relationship and are thinking about taking it to the next step. talk about it, reassuring your BF/GF that you really care is a big help in making it.
Visit each other. If its possible and in your budget (I so wish it was) go and visit as much as possible. not all LDR's are restricted by distance, if your less then a day away from someone you love, try and find was to get together.
(The Most Important) BE FAITHFUL AND HONEST. If you cant be honest and if you cant be faithful, then you shouldn't be in any relationship let alone a LDR because it takes LOTS of dedication. and if your eyes are wandering and your hearts not in it, most likely someones going to get hurt.
